Hi, to everybody, i have just found out that as our service vehicle is 7m long (not 6.5m which is the max size for motorsport rate) the cost of the ferries from hull to rotterdam for 2008 has been increased from £350 per trip to over £900 so i wondered if there was a company in holland who dealt with ferry bookings direct with P&O in rotterdam and could get us a better deal if we booked in holland as opposed to uk as at the new price it looks like we will have to reconsider weather we return in 2008 as for the season it will add nearly £4500 to our costs

i am continuing to try and sort out this end but any help from holland would be appreciated

Hello Guy,

Maybe you'd consider Stena Line Harwich - Hoek van Holland? I saw you're in Wales, I sometimes get to the UK with an HGV, and in distance/time the difference isn't that big. That ferry also would save you time as it only takes about 9 hours instead of 14.

I don't know about any prices though, exept fuel being extremely expensive in Britain

its a problem with p&o doesn,t matter if i use judith or anybody else, the travel time to harwich is to long so needs to be hull!

I think we have now sorted the matter with P & O so we are back on track for the Tank S car almost done and ready for the test on 16th feb before i disappear for a quick holiday to keep the good lady happy and back for some fun in emmeloord

Great to hear that you're coming, our son will be very pleased aswell!!!!

I'm looking forward to it already.

just a note to say that due to still some uncertain issues with the ferry costs but more to do with pressure of work i have very sadly decided not to return to holland in 2008 in the escort maxi to contest the championship
we may return for one event near the end of the year and will definately consider some events in 2009 if all things with work and the new job i have taken on work out

There are a lot of fans in Holland that will be missing you this year.
