This time it's all rallying, which I discovered late in life -only 30 years ago in 1975. Although the photos often had to be taken in the darkening gloom of a British winter, the action was memorable. Try to imagine the scream of an Escort or a Stratos racing through a Yorkshire forest long before it blasts into view -sideways. A Porsche booming through the night in the South of France, headlamps occasionally bouncing off the opposite wall of the ravine as the road twists towards you, a wall of noise as it rips up the tarmac before your eyes, and then heads off into the darkness, engine singing on - and then you hear the next car coming....
Maybe you get the picture.
